Back in the beginning of October 2016 a friend of mine requested we make a girls trip to London in March. I have to admit that my first thought was that this would never work. We have hardly managed to meet the last year and it would be impossible to find a weekend that would fit everyone’s schedule. However, I was wrong! All seven girls said yes and we just had an amazing weekend filled with sightseeing, shopping, food, beer, laughter, girl talk and fun!!
Two of the groups members had not been in London before so we thought it was important that they got a view of the city before hitting Oxford Street for a shopping spree. We started off the Saturday by walking on the London Eye pier and crossing the bridge over to Palace of Westminster. From there we walked through the St.James’ park and over to Buckingham Palace. The day was amazing and we could feel the sun starting slowly to warm. First sign of spring!!
We had lunch at Ye Olde Cock Tavern. Fish and Chips was on the menu so once in Great Britain we were obligated to taste it. The meals were huge and impossible to finish but also very tasty. We all ordered large beers and relaxed before we hit Oxford Street for the rest of the day.
When reaching Oxford Street we started out by hitting all the stores we don’t have at home. Some favorites were Victoria Secret, Karen Millen, Aldo and of course Disney Store. After visiting Disney Store we decided it was best to divide the group in two… “the ones with children” and “the ones with no children”. It worked out great. My group got to check out the latest fashion in makeup, handbags, clothes and other accessories, while the other group seemed to get great deals on baby clothes and toys. We later met up for dinner at the Mele e Pere restaurant in Soho. The restaurant was packed with people and obviously a very popular place. Food was amazing but the place was a bit noisy. Next time we will ask for a table upstairs.
